Welcome to the Mike Ginsberg for 8th Congressional District Chairman Website

Dear Friends,

Thanks for visiting the Mike Ginsberg for 8th District GOP Chairman website!  I am running for 8th District Chairman because I believe with hard work, organized efforts, and innovative programs, we can lay the foundation for GOP success in statewide and local GOP elections.

GOP supporters know that the last several statewide races have been close; Sen. Allen lost his re-election bid by only 9,300 votes, and both Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling and Attorney General Bob McDonnell won their races in 2005 by very tight margins.  By winning an additional 5% here in the 8th District, we can make the difference in these close statewide elections — this fall in the presidential race and in the 2009 statewide races.

My efforts as chair will focus on three key areas:

(1)  Party-Building.  We will pursue expanded voter ID efforts to identify new Republican voters, including the voters from the 2008 GOP primary.  We will implement absentee ballot programs and GOTV efforts as Election Day draws near.  We’ll increase communications among the members of the 8th District, to maximize turnout at meetings and events throughout the District.

(2) Fundraising.  We will work hard and be persistent in raising the funds needed for our party-building goals and voter ID/absentee ballot projects.  Our goal is to have those efforts include fundraisers with high-profile speakers from DC and beyond.

(3)  Community Outreach – We will work to bring our message of smaller government and lower taxes to a wide audience, including a concerted effort to bring our message to the many ethnic constituencies that make up the 8th District.
